Kitchen Nook
This space is in an old farm house built in 1780. I designed and built the benches to fit in the space. By using benches on two sides, a large family can sit around the table and enjoy togetherness. A large space for a dog bed under the bench makes sure the entire family is welcome and comfortable. The table was refinished with an early American stain to compliment the age of the house.
Attention to detail
This design takes into consideration the entire family. This warm, cozy spot keeps the family pet happy and close, but entirely out of the way.
Design it
This design considered the space but also available materials and sizes to reduce cost of construction.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. These space was used every day where my family eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. This table had original been my grandmother table, it used to be a hazelnut raw wood color. Incorporate the table was necessary because it fit the space perfectly with no hard edge but still resembled a square table. I painted the bass with pure white paint to match the white bench. The stain on the table top matches a lot of the open wood and beams throughout the house. Finally it is sealed with a layer of polyurethane to protect the surface and make any spills an easy clean up.
